The Teton's, Jenny Lake and a hike

We had a STELLAR day in the Teton's exploring the Jenny Lake area.

On our way into the park we saw Uncle Brian's 'double' (at least from his profile shot) at the ranger check in.  His name was Ranger Chad and he said, "...then he MUST be a very cool lookin' guy." and we immediately replied, "Absolutely.....NOT!" Ha!
Let us know what you think.  There's a pic below of handsome Chad.

We took a one-way boat taxi over to the other side of the lake and hiked approx. 5 miles back after checking out Hidden Falls.  The water was really high so the river's and streams running through the area were roaring hard and fast.  Paranoid mom made the kids walk along the inside so they wouldn't fall down the cliff, into the white water and die instantly.  Yes, I told them that. Fear is good.  Of course Harper's tag line to her mom this trip is, "MOM, RELAX! Stop worrying".  Does this sound familiar grandma?!

We didn't see the moose that everyone else did (in the parking lot no less), but we did see a pika and a yellur....bellied....marmot! Again, don't quote us on that...we're just going off the pictures :)

After the long hike up and around the kids completed their Jr. Ranger packet and went to get their SECOND JR. RANGER badge!!! We're really proud of them as Uncle Brian said, "they don't just give those away ya know!"

We rewarded the kids loooong, hard hike with some ice cream in Jackson Hole at Moos. Jackson is a great little town.  Check out the antler arches below.

PS...We loved Jackson Hole so much and the surrounding area that we could see ourselves retiring here.  Jeff is dying to become a rancher and a cowboy as well, can you believe it??!!
Just kidding! We do love it here though and are sad to leave.

PSS...We're heading thru north and central Utah on our way to Bryce and Zion.

Heading back to Jenny Lake...

and the magnificent Teton's.

We thought this ranger looked just like Brian from a distance so....

Jeff asked to take his picture.  The ranger said, "He must be a great looking guy." We of course replied, "obviously!"

We're back!

Note: Harper's knee injury and hiking bragging rights for making the journey back. The happy ending? Cut-offs!

I saw this handsome movie star back at the ranger station.  He must be working on a film with all that facial hair.

The kids being sworn in as Grand Teton Jr. Rangers

What a shot! We're very proud of our Jr. Rangers.
