A highlight and at times the low light (for the kids) was a five mile hike down into the canyon starting at Navajo Loop Trail to the Queens Garden Trail and finishing up at Sunset. When we descended into the canyon we really felt like we were on another planet. Harper thought a couple of times she couldn't take another step, but....she prevailed with the help of a short piggy back ride from Super Hero Dad!
We were really proud of the kids for persevering and making it to the other side since we didn't plan on this long of a hike. To be honest....we misunderstood the map....yet again, but in the end we were glad since we saw so much more of the canyon and felt like we really accomplished something BIG!
The second highlight was of course Jack and Harper getting their 3rd Junior Ranger badge!
